Sorry to dereail the topic, but I think I have altrifron(sp) and mine has a tiny black dot where yours is very dark, my question is, why does the dot get really dark when a larger fish passes by? Is it a defense reaction?

i dont really know but sounds likely and altifrons show little or no spot.
