well my gymno quillero are growing and coloring nicely but im gettin scared i dont have a good number of males and females. i have two who sqauble a lil im assuming there males but non are developing the black spot on them like most females ive seen. they are between 1.5" and 2". when can itell the sex and what would be a good ratio of male to female to keep in my 58 gallon

not sure on ratios but if you have a colony (which I think you do have several) they should work out dominance. I have heard that many gymnogeophagus squabble amongst themselves. I wouldnt be alarmed.

i have a 2 male 1 femal ratio with my gymnogeophagus (gymnogenys) maldonado. they do just fine, a little aggression from the dominant male, but other then that not really all that much to worry about

Since you have such a big group (9 if I remember correctly) I wouldnt worry about it too much. Once they get bigger you'll forsure know their sex and then you can make the desired ratio if there is too much aggression.

excelent thankyou so much for the help that was my conceren was having to many males but if they will work out a pecking order and it will be ok awsome
