Geophagus Altifrons tank?

Hi,

I just got a new 75g and will be letting it cycle for 2 weeks. Its a standard 75g with a width of 18".

Will this be sufficient to put in 4 Geophagus Altifrons since they grow to 10-11"?

I have a Jack Dempsey female which I will be giving away when she grows up after which the tank will be only for the geo's.

IMO, the tank is not big enough for G. altifrons. They are large, active and magnificent fish....I think you'd need 125g or 180g. A 75g would be ok for some smaller Geophagus species though.

I agree with peathenster, I had a group of 5 altifrons that as adults became very abusive to each other in a 150 gal tank.
