Geophagus Brasiliensis eye color? gold or red?

I have a full size Brasiliensis with gold eyes as shown along with a 2" juvie with the gold eyes. Now for my 3.5" Brasiliensis (photo to come) that has red eyes? Whats the common color, and is there a reason for them being different? Or, could the red eye version be a different species all together?

Okay, here's the photo of my 3.5" red eyed Brasiliensis. Same species, different color eyes? Whats your thought on which is common, or if the red eyes will change with age? Remember, the small 2" Brasiliensis has gold eyes like the large one.

I have 2 brasiliensis that both have red eyes,both around 4 inches
