Hi all, I have a few geos I'm currently growing out in a 40 breeder, a male-female pare of red head tapajos and a pare of hump heads. Each are about 3 inches and the female hump head is absolutely out of her mind. All fish coexist peacefully yet this one fish is chasing and nipping at every fish in the tank incessantly. Can anyone shed Light on the solution or cause?

I have read that red humps sexually mature at 3 inches did you check aquarium for fry hidden some where?

Btw I also know Steindacheri can get pretty testy with other Geo's especially red head tapajos.

You may have to remove her, or place objects in to break the line of site most geo keepers suggest having groups to help spread aggression.

The only thing I can think is that the female maybe gravid and mature but the male is not thus breeding behavior isn't reciprocated and thus a spawn. I lowered Temps from 78 to 70 and she seems to have relaxed a bit. Trying to upload photos but I'm getting an error

I'm going to shoot a pm to a very experienced member who breeds, and raises many species of geo's.

Forgot its close to the Holiday some members may be away, I would also suggest typing agressive red hump aggression in the search bar to see if any other members have experienced this situation.

I actually haven't had G. steiny but they are supposed to be a bit more aggressive. I think the tank size may be ok for either pair, but not both. It's probably better to grow out groups in bigger tanks than mixing two pairs in a small tank...
