Hey all! Can anyone tell me what type of Geophagus I have? They were approximately 1.5 inches when I got them, and they are nearly 2 years old now. They were purchased as Winemilleri from a very well know and respect source. I'm starting to have my doubts. MVIMG_20200429_181757.jpgIMG_20200429_181846.jpgIMG_20200429_181809.jpg

Tapajos is my thought as well. I didn't add that in the initial post as to not lead anyone into a possible conclusion. I've had my suspicions for a while now, but I waited to post until today when my curiosity finally got the best of me. Beautiful fish, and very entertaining, but not what I wanted. Kind of disappointing.

Not much I can do about it I suppose, other than continue to enjoy them.

Yeah still beautiful and a very nice Geophagus.
It’s funny cause when I wanted my Geos I was wanting Tapajos and LFS didn’t have any they had Winemilleri so that’s what I ended up with.
Mine aren’t as good looking as your Tapajos.
So don’t be too disappointed.

The two fish on the left in the top photo don’t look like Tapajos, but the other one is, as is the single fish in the next two photos.
I noticed the fish In the first photo.
They look like sub dominant fish compared to the one on the right being the dominant.
But still Tapajos.
A full side on shot of these two would help.

Tapajos usually have bifurcated bars, not solid ones. The tail pattern also looks different. It could be the angle of the photos. Full pictures of all the geos in this tank would help.
