Anyone know where you can find these? Saw pics of them on Rapps' site, but don't see them on the stock list. Looks impressive and I've wanted to find a good geo.

I bought 4 2" iporangensis for $10 at the greater Chicago cichlid association swap meet. If your near the IA/IL border and don't mind a road trip you can post a want to buy add in their classifieds at gcca.net.

Thanks. You didn't get them at Sunday's swap did you? I was thinking about going and didn't. I'd be kind of bummed if I missed my chance.

I got them at the October meet, didn't male the march

I've never kept them (unless they're also known as G. sp. "Sao Paulo") but from what I've seen they are in the Geo. brasiliensis complex...and stay somewhat smaller than the typical "brasiliensis" seen in the hobby.

Here's the profile from the CRC: http://www.cichlidae.com/gallery/species.php?s=1796

There are a whole bunch of different "brasiliensis"-types found from Northern Uruguay into Brasil (and probably elsewhere) that are each "different"....some described and other undescribed...and most having been called "brasiliensis" in the past. Definitely a group in need of icthyological attention :)
