Received 7 geophagus neambi yesterday, already very active and feeding. In my 36g community tank to grow out, eventually they’re going in my 240g with 2 psittacus and a venezuelan pike. Currently 3-3.5” .03FC58E6-61DB-4954-BBC1-9620AF40041F.jpegE4BBF4C4-E5CE-4562-A53D-951AABE072DF.jpegDC9970F9-BBAC-44F7-8D25-B956504D47CB.jpeg5AC46AF1-58FA-4AA5-8A86-2A156E5161EC.jpeg9441C744-52AE-40A2-BCA2-1B6E387755AB.jpeg

Very nice fish. I believe they will be happier on a sand substratum. I realize this setup is temporary during quarantine. And then again, quarantine tanks are better without substratum. Beautiful fish. Good luck with them.

Thanks. Their permanent tank has sand and I’m hoping they will be in there mid summer. To be honest I haven’t had room to add fish since 2016 and didnt think of quarantine. Probably going to let them grow out here a bit then move them to my 75g sump to grow out before adding them to the 240. I feel 4.5-5” will be sufficient so if they behave and keep growing I will probably just leave the in the 36 if they start acting over crowded or growth stalls then they will have to move into the sump for a bit.
