Here.
Hello,

Just wondering if things will get better and if they are just establishing a pecking order right now. The nipping is nothing serious, just the rear pectoral fins are frayed. Added some salt to aid w. healing and stress.

Should I wait it out?

Geophagus brachybranchus - suppose to be pretty docile.

Thanks guys!

PS I posted this in the Datnoid section too but need opinions from both :D

NTT=thin bar datnoid. how big is the dat and how big is the geo? prolly just "breaking in" the new guy ;) i wouldn't worry about it. they dat would be able to inflict more damage upon the geo.

give the dat a place to hid and it'll be fine. my IT rules over all my cichlids currently. he use to get chased by my severum pair though

The dat and geo are around the same size... I would say that the dat is about .5 inches larger than them... also a lot taller and thicker too.

I've had more bad experiences than good regarding keeping a single species of geo specimen among other fish. They've generally ended up being pretty bossy for me, even to fish bigger or equal in size to them. I'd suggest getting 3-4 more geo's or getting a new tank/home for the one you have.
