Any info on these? I have a chance to buy 10 around 4" for $50.00. Are they peacefull, tank mates, are they easy to breed? Any pics

Haven't heard a peach head. Did you mean "peach face" (Geo. tapajos II)? Or "orange head" (Geo. tapajos orangehead)? Either way, I'd jump on the deal. They are both relatively peaceful, and several experienced eartheater keepers on this forum have bred them.

Some Geos can be quite mean - like those in the Geo. brasiliensis complex.

Hi.. Without pics it's hard to tell what fish it is but... I would think it was the peach face.. usually the orangeheads are either called orange heads or red heads .. but you never know.. At the 4 inch size if you have a big enough tank, that's a steal either way.. Do you have a chance to see them?? If you go to Jeff Rapps (Tangled UpInCichlids) site he has great pics.. Just make sure you really know what you are getting as their adult size and therefore tank size may vary.. They really need to have a sand substrate to thrive and for your entertainment in watching them sift the sand. Also most are fairly peaceful but if you want them to breed, at 4 inches you might be able to sex them.. but it will be iffy.. The more info you can get from the seller the better.. Good luck and keep us posted.. There are quite a few geo addicts here and on the forum cichlid-forum. Pics please:popcorn::popcorn: Sue:D

I have had them, got em at 2" and moved em out at 4" (Repair has them now down in Indy) and regret the heck out of it, they were mellow even by Geo standards...I kept them with Geophagus cf. altifrons "Rio Tocantins". Not a issue ever to this day, and I talked to Repair last night...

The name that I was given was (Written on the bag by a very respected midwestern dealer).

Geophagus sp. "Tapajos II" "Peach Face"

I will be getting another group this year at the GCCA Classic provided the vendor can get them again.

That is a great price for these fish that size.....IMHO....

Nuthman~
