Geophagus Pellegrini

I am seriously thinking about getting a pair of Geophagus Pellegrini..
The Size is about 6 - 7 inches...
Does anyone know at what size do these guys start to breed ?
And how large do they get ?

Also concerned about just getting a pair ......due to male aggression ....
Thinking about also getting a smaller female maybe 5 inches to make a trio
to deflect some of the male aggression...
What are your thoughts on this whole subject ???

They are a harem breeder so the more females you have, the better chance to spawn and spread around the males agression. If you have the means try and get as many females as possible. IMO (although I have not kept them) you should try and do more than a trio of possible.
