Now, how often in domesticated tanks can a male pellegrini get a nuchal hump of this size?

wow. i know that is not an answer, but just wow.

alright...I almost regret posting this now. After all of my internet searches. Seems like this fish is quite rare and hard to find here in the US. Supposedly all the "real" pellegrini are always confused to be steingarchi or something like that.

Supposedly these are quite expensive too ranging from $50 for a one inch fry to hundreds for adults or pairs.

Yeah, I still would like some.

I have a colony of pellegrinni and none of my males have a hump anywhere near that.

My youngster is wayy to small to have a hump yet. Hes reaching 4 inches and starting to color nicely, mostly blue atm but I know he is pell so It is now a waiting game. Hes taking quite a while to grow..

That fish is very impressive

For some reason the hump part of the picture looks weird to me. Can somebody with graphics background comment on that?

The ones I got from you are doing well :) They are ~3" now and beginning to turn yellow. Hope they are not all the same sex. lol
