I have aquired a breeding colony of 1 male and 3 females. Within a week the male had 2 girls with mouthfuls and was still super aggressive and attentive.
I moved him out and watched as the first girl lost her mouthful, not sure if she swallowed or what, and the second girl held for a week and a bit and had at least 8 fry she was spitting and protecting.
The next day she only had one fry left which i promptly saved, but i would like to know do you normally strip these fish like africans or should they be left with the parents normally ????
Who would have eaten the bubs ???
Tankmates are a colony of 5 Satanoperca leucosticta and a 8 cm flagtail prochilodus all housed in a 150 gallon tank.
