Looks like a female the male develops a red nuchal hump.
How big is the fish in the pic?
About 2.5 In. So even the females gets that red hint on top of the head?
Sorry for the late reply yes females get the hint of red on top of their head.
As some have suggested, a more informative shot would be helpful.
While its a very aesthetically pleasing shot, the angle hides the distinction between genders.
A broad side that clearly shows distinctive different traits would be best.
Above its more utilitarian because its easy to distinguish male from female.
In the angel below, with the same species (to me a, much more pleasing shot) there is no obvious way to be sure
