Hi There-Wanting to get some Geophagus sveni, but concerned about how or if they will adapt to my 8.2 PH and hard water. I have some Geophagus mirabilis sp. Aripuana that are doing fantastically well, but don't know if sveni would be as tolerant. Also any insight for those keeping or those who have kept sveni is appreciated. :D

I'm sure they would prefer soft water all the time with frequent nitrate free water but will still be fine in your water, if it was Discus or something on the other hand it would be rough.

^ Domestic discus are fine at a pH in the 8s. Wild geos, on the other hand, can be less forgiving if they're from naturally soft and acidic water. I've seen the larger ones come down with HITH due to water. Keep them really clean.

I have a group of wild sveni that are thriving in my normal tap water that's right around 8.0. They are full of energy and eat constantly. Can I ask where you're getting your sveni from
