Hey all, Im new to the cichlid hobby and was hoping someone could help me out. I had 1 red head geo in my tank for 6 days now and just recently put 2 more in today. Ever since I put the other 2 in the first geo has been constanty attacking 1 of the new geo leaving the other one alone. Also the one in the tank first has also been darting around and "flashing" since the 2 new ones went in. Its almost like he is super pissed off. Is this typical behavior for geos? The 2 I put in today are really calm considering one of them is taking a azz kicking. As i said before new to the hobby and looking for as much info as possible.

I have not kept them, but cichlids in general create a pecking order.your 1st f ish is showing his dominance.

Add more....you have to spread the aggression out a little. Also do a larger water change and move the decor around a bit before adding the new fish.

Thanx for the responses. The one has stopped attacking the newer ones but its still a spazz. It twitches, darts around and rolls on the sand substrate?!?!
