Can someone please tell me why in the world my flagtail is going nuts and chasing my geos everywhere. I thought they were a peaceful fish. The geos are all bigger as well. Input? Just added some fish today and it never chased anyone before.

Try moving around the decor and do a waterchange :)

Usually helps when you add new fish to already established tanks.

This way all the fish are going to establish hierarki and terretories all over, and the balance of things should be better :)

Flagtails do that. They will chase their own kind relentlessly unless you have a sizable group - I tried to add 2 and 3 to a tank and both times I ended up with a single happy fish.

Mine also chase much bigger Geos, and seem to try to suck on them. Doesn't seem to be doing any real damage tho.

They can be far from peaceful. Anything that messes with mine gets a surprise when it turns the favor on them with a beating. Mine doesn't generally start fights but it can hang with much more aggressive cichlids then I expected when I got it.

This thread has given me a new respect for Flagtails. I never knew they were so tough! I was thinking about getting one or two in my new set up with some cichlids. Looks like one flagtail will have to be the limit.
