A pair of Geophagus winemilleri are trying to spawn on the bare bottom of their new 180G tank. They couldn't have chosen a less protected spot, right out in the open, front and center. The other tankmates, Hoplarchus psittacus, Heros severus, Heros notatus, Heros efasciatus, and Acarichthys heckelii have been ignoring the pair pretty much entirely. The problem is a third winemilleri which is trying to snack on the eggs and is distracting the pair, resulting in them spending more time chasing the intruder and squabbling, than on the spawning act. I think they're doing well, considering.
