Georgia Aquarium pics!!!

Finally got around to going to the GA today with some friends. It was awesome; well worth $25.25.

First, some freshwater fishies...

Nice tank full of African cichlids

A couple of arapaimas

A couple of arawanas

A couple of electric eels

and another nice tank of piranha

now for some SW critters...

the "sea canaries" (aka Beluga whales)

Cuttlefish

Japanese spider crabs (they look so otherworldly!)

some jellies (not a super-clear photo, but still kinda nice design)

an giant Pacific octopus

weedy sea dragon (one of the most beautiful fish there is IMO)

sea turtle

wobbegong shark

and a sea otter

and finally, the ones you've been waiting for....the whale sharks! There's 4 of these giants in there and although they're only 15-20 ft right now, the aquarium announced that the tank was specifically designed to accomodate 6 fullgrown of them. In about 10 yrs or so, I hope to take my child (if i have one) to see these same ones when they're even bigger. Enough talk....enjoy the pics!

and it was kinda cool to see this school of rays gliding overhead, too.

I am speechless, and I never even seen it in person! I wish that they had aquariums like that in ontario, never see anything on that scale around here.

Glad ya'll enjoy them. The "wow" factor is so off the charts when one of those sharks loom overhead inside the tunnel you walk through.

Some of my friends also took some pics and they had much better cameras than I did, so once I get some of theirs, I'll post those, too!
