has any body been there yet? i went Christmas eve. the tank w/ the whale sharks was very impressive. the only thing about the tank i didn't like was that i never got a full idea of how big it is. they have some small viewing windows, a glass tunnel, and a couple good sized veiwing windows spread out around the tank. then the last part of the path around the tank is the huge viewing window. other than the huge viewing window, you cant grasp the immense size of the tank. they tell u the dimensions of the tank but u have to use ur imagination to visualize it. the tunnel was my favorite part of the tank because it is bright and the water is 30+ feet.
the rest of the aquarium didnt really impress me. in the river exhibit there is a big amazon tank full of monsters. next to the tank though there is a TV w/ a slide show. some of the information was totally wrong on it. on the arowanna slide, it says they can reach lengths of up to 10 feet. on the arapima slide, it doesnt even mention how big they get. and i'm pretty sure the scientific name on the TSN slide was wrong too. the part that i liked about the river exhibit was the native tank that was built into the cealing like a stream and it spanned the whole path that u walked on from start to finish.
i expect that the aquarium will improve in a few years though. when they start working out the problems on the rest of the aquarium it will be great. dont get me wrong, i liked the aquarium and would say it is a must see.
o btw i took tons of pictures and will be uploading then tommorow.
