Anyone have any success with eartheaters and plants. I'm wanting to do a tank with plants but affraid to lose plants. Do most geos eat plants or just dig them up I'm thinking of covering the base of my plants with large pebbles so they can't be dug up. So if I prevent them from being du up do I have to worry about them eating them

well in my experience if you have plants like java ferns then you should be fine im not so sure about other plants cuz they tend to uproot plants most of the time.

Most could care less about consuming the plants, it's more of an issue of them diggin through the substrate uprooting the plants. The area where a plant enters the substrate is an area where food can accumulate and the plant can be uprooted if not secured in some way.

If I were to try it with any of my Eartheaters (which I eventually intend upon giving it a go) then I would use plants with a long root system with the base covered by pebbles like you suggested.

Never had a problem with geos and plants
