Hey guys, so I am going to be getting some geophagus tapajos to go in my main tank. My current stock in my 110g is 2 Senegal bichirs, 1 delhezi bichir, 1 ansorgii bichir, 2 butikofferi bichirs, 2 6" freshwater eels, and an African spotted leaf fish. None of my fish are over 6". How many do you think I could put in? I have more than enough space for them, and enough room to put in a divider for a breeding pair or two. Thoughts?

I have had multiple pairs spawning in the same tank at the same time, no need for a divider.

I would get a school of 8 and thin back as adults only if you need to. Worst mistake is getting too few, they are a social cichlid and need be kept in groups of 6+ IME. Buy a pile and sit back and relax bro you'll love them!

Thanks Justin! Been doing quite a bit of research and you know better than most, I'm not a cichlid guy, but these guys actually have me excited. Very colorful and the breeding seems like so much fun!

You should be ok to put two pairs in their but there is nothing like creating a geo colony bro. You should really think about picking up a 90 gal or 125 and build a geo tank.
