Thanks! It's basically just a slate colored gravel. Most of it is flat (not shiny) with some metallic looking stones thrown in the mix. My LFS packages this stuff and sells it pretty cheap. I actually just switched to it after seeing pics on MFK of someone else's tank (forget who)

This is the first time I've kept them, and they are about 2" at the moment. From what I've read though seems like 10-12" is the standard.

Nice geo! Yeah they grow slow so dont expect them to reach that 10" anytime soon. I got 4 myself, my favorite cichlid!
