German Blue Ram Eggs disappeared! - HELP

Last night I posted a thread with a few questions on breeding and then woke up to a new batch of eggs (as seen). WELL by the time I got back from campus all the eggs were gone. ??? So I'm wondering if they were spread out along the gravel (yikes) or on the fake plant in there but take a look at the photos and give me some thoughts here please!! Also, there are two males and two females and this is in a 20 gallon but the other two were staying far away from the eggs assumingly guarded by the ram on top. Were they eaten? destroyed during transportation? These rams are about 1 inch in length so I'm baffled that they could even spawn. Take a look of the images down below, only the first one has the eggs all in a pile so tell me if the other pictures seem to contain eggs or not.

It's a strong possibility that they were eaten inexperienced parents may do this even a few times until they get it right. Also they can be layed by the female and the male may not fertilize them. When fertile the eggs will stay Amber throughout the stage of development. When they turn white in a day or so they were not fertile. Don't worry they will spawn again.

Agree, they will do it again. If this was their first spawn, it takes a bit to get it right. Your fish look very mature for 1" as stated in your other post. BTW, you can post to this thread the progress of your pair. You do not need to start a new thread every time you wish to say something about the same subject. This allows especially people who have subscribed to your post to see further posts/updates on the subject.

Hello; If possible leave the spawning pair in the tank and remove the other two. The non spawning fish will eat the eggs if they get a chance I think. The spawning pair may also eat the eggs.

I'll go ahead and separate them into a 5.5 gallon and raise them there separately until they're red to be placed elsewhere.

hello; Do not know about rams in particular but had a pair of spawning angel fish for a time recently. At first it was three weeks to a month or more between spawns. As the pair matured it seemed to be less time between spawns.
Part will depend on how long it takes before the eggs/fry are all eaten. My angels would take a week or so to eat all the eggs and wigglers. They never raised a brood on their own. They would move the eggs/wrigglers a few times and there would be fewer as time went by until all were gone. I raised two batches by removing the eggs to an empty grow out tank.

Another thing is the time it takes for the female to produce more eggs internally.

in my experience, young cichlids or ones that are new to breeding generally eat their first spawn(s). my acaras, when they first spawned, ate most of their eggs because
1. they were stressed by me moving their tank, dumb move on my part but it was bc their sponge filter cut off, the aerator stopped working, and the aerator for my 55G had a dual function so I was moving them to share the aerator.
2. it was their first time spawning, they were both pretty small at 2-3 inches.
3. most of the eggs already died bc of fungus.
if there are other fish in the tank then yes those could have eaten them.
