i got 2 german blue rams from my girlfriend who had them in her 40 gallon with gourami and angel fish and bolivian rams as well. she was getting another pair of bolivians and i said i would take the germans from her. the two she had were a pair, and when i put them in my tank they seemed to continue their relationship for a day. but now they stay on opposite sides of the tank basically, and the supposed female is extremely territorial. i had 2 electric blue rams in my tank already who hadnt established a couple yet. so i have i male and female of both species and now NONE of them are coupling up. I want to know why and how i can change it possibly

there is sufficient hiding
i have a 28 gallon bowfront
water temp is 82
water peramaters are perfect
except ph which is 7 nuetral (they were raised in 7 tho)
there is one chinese algae eater and 1 angel fish with them
any advice on how to get them happy and together again?

maybe someone could help me sex them as well.... pretty please ill add pictures if i get responses hopefully.

In my experience rams are easy to pair but I didnt have any luck on the fry. Female rams have a pinkish belly and shorter fins... Im not a big fan of the Chinese algae eater cause of their temperment. They always bother other fish, might contribute to the cause of your rams splitting. The tank space could be a factor also..

ive started to notice the algae eater doing that. but he sure as hell cleans my tank better than any pleco ive ever had.
on another topic. i have two gbr's and the supposed female has the short vertical fins, and the black pelvic fin. however no pink belly, and much more aggressive... confusing.
also the supposed male, is timid, has longer dorsal fins, and no black on pelvic fins, however no black spot on him... at all (maybe due to poor breeding).... as i've been told a black spot that is solid black indicates male, but mine has no black. whereas the female has more of a black spot.

so overall im super confused on who is actually male and female my assumption is what i called "supposed" ^^ above. and the electrics...they are hard to sex i gave up

whats your opinion ... anyone?:)

Chinese algae eaters are amazing at cleaning algae but they do become very aggressive and annoying to other fish. I had 6 and loved their work but had to get rid of em.
