i have a 40 gal that has no fish in it atm it had 4 cichlids and 2 BN plecos i moved them so i was thinking about getting blue rams any suggestions on what i could put them with i have been reading in to them allot lately and i know just about every thing i think i still am skiming over things that i have read to see if i might not have fully understood it the 3rd time i read it. but i am not sure what would be good that also wouldnt eat eggs or not be that interested in them.

so i got 4 GBR and got 5 neon's and 4 guppis if their is any probs with that then i will move the guppies to a diff tank

i was thinking about picking up some drift wood i seen one at my LFS and it had lots of "caves" in it i could also get a moss bed and then tie the moss to the wood and i had put in an order from them to get some hair grass to make up a better part of the bottom and their is no where around here that sells floating plants i could look on aquabid.com and see if their is any their

I wouldn't put guppies in since they will sometimes eat eggs even though the parents will protect them sometimes the guppies can get to them if they are protecting the eggs from another fish you could try some cherry red shrimp because they aren't supposed to eat the eggs unless they've died or are infertile I haven't had any eggs in my tanks at the time I had the shrimp so I can not verify if this is true or not The best kind of plants for rams since they like to spend most of their time around the bottom (at least mine did) would be something that grows up then out for example my ocelot sword plant only uses about 1.5 square inches of bottom area but then the leaves swell out from that and provide a lot of cover without blocking the area they hang at
