My pair of German Blue Rams spawned about 24 hours ago, and have been acting rather strange. I swear that about every 10 seconds, one darts over to the bubble wand, grabs a few bubbles, darts back, replaces the one guarding the nest, and then it goes over and grabs a few bubbles. they have been doing this over and over for a few hours. Any ideas what they are doing or why they are doing it?

if this is their first spawn they may just be confusedas to what to do, otherwise I have no idea, My rams never did that but I never ran bubbles when breeding them. plants and current do it better imo

Yeah it is their first spawn, they were fighting back and forth at first, and I thought they would eat the eggs because I heard it is pretty common with german blues. However they seem to be getting it together, working together etc. All looks good besides this bubble thing...

if you want you can move the eggs to a 5 or 2.5g tank, use the same tank water with a small sponge filter and heater keep it about 80 and try to grow them out yourself, a little flow will help to keep them from fuzzing up, otherwise chances are your rams will eat them unless you keep them well fed

I bred EB rams for about a year or so before I got sick of it, they are terrible parents. I've bred several species, not a huge list, but quite a few, and they are by far the worst at something they should be doing naturally. Seems like they just lost their parental skills somewhere down the line.

Yeah, taking the eggs away from the parents over the years in fish farms sure has done a number to the species. I might try to find some wild caught columbians, those offspring would be a hit.
