i want to start a 75 gallon tank with 2 or 3 frontosa's with about 4 or 5 german rams? possible? why or why not ?
thanks=)

No, frontosa are colony fish that need groups of 7 or more, and they get huge, takes a long time but still. 12" or more. Will eventually need a 125g. And the second part is you shouldn't do sa/ca with african. And due to the fact that rams are dwarf fish. I will put money on it that the fronts will eat them.

i used to have a 8in green terror with a school of 10 tiger barbs and the green terror left them alone pretty well. will the fronts not do the same with rams?

Anything that fits in a front's mouth will eventually end up in there...its just a matter of time.

so basically if i do go through with it, once the fronts are about 4 inches the rams will be gone? bummer i thought that combo would look amazing!

Despite the fact that the rams will evenutally end up food, for species have very specific care when it comes to water perameters. These two species would not fair well in the others enviroment. Rams require very soft, warm water, fronts require much more alkaline (hard) water. One species will always look sickly while the other thrives. Honestly I have never had luck keeping rams alive/thriving in hard water so I don't even try.

+1. water requirements are vastly different. Aside from the rams becoming front snacks.

No. Barbs are fast and can easily get away, plus GT's aren't as predatory as fronts.

As everyone else said, water requirements are completely different, the fronts will eat the rams before they are half their adult size, and a 75g is too small for fronts even without rams.
