Germicidal UV in nM, closest match?

If you don't like the way it's built, do it yourself, they say... Germicidal UV LED's would make building a DIY UV sterilizer attractive, too. Problem is, their hard to come by, and even harder to find in the proper nM. You're certainly not going to find 264nM LED's for the taking. You can come close, though. 240, 255 and 265nM LED's are all available right now (as well as some oddballs. 292nM!?).

Question is, is that missing +/- 1 (or 10) nM going to make all that much difference? Not being an optics engineer, I have no idea. I'm hoping someone here does :) The LED's in that nM ballpark aren't cheap enough to play around with yet without knowing for sure!

Expense, power and rarity of the lamps is the minor problem here :D.

There's talk that it's the next generation (they just don't say when).
