Hello,

Ive been reading more, and I think a Geryi piranha would fit my 55 better than a rhom. I have three questions:

1.) I read that they are the only serrasalmus that will reliably shoal in aquaria, but I probably couldn't manage more than one in my 55 right?

2.) How much should I expect to pay for one around 2-3"? Aquascape had a 10" one for 400 bucks, and I understand that I'll have to pay a little, but I'd like a ball park.

3.) What months are the best for finding Geryi piranhas? In other words when are they "in season"?

Thanks!

no idea on price, but yeah you'll want a bigger tank and p season starts in may or june (summer)

Geryi have been shoaled, but for the cost of them, but in my opinion, if you have to ask about it, id recommend against it.

A 55 would definitely be tight for a geryi of decent size, and unquestionably small for more than one. Good luck finding them. If you find some at that size, let me know cuz I want a small one too.

In my 4 years here I've only seen them in any context other then inquiring about them 8 or 9 times. Almost exclusively oversea. Good luck on that hunt. Pretty rare

George has a good size one, definitely not a 55 gal fish.
