my pleco chewed the paint off of my heater in one spot, should i be concerned. also, its a 100w in a 30G is this enough wattage?

I would just go ahead an replace it anyways. I should recommend the Stealth Brand Heaters. Firstly, if you order them online, they aren't that pricey. Second, they aren't made of glass so you don't have to worry about it cracking, and lastly, they have an auto-shutoff switch to where they will turn themselves off if taken out of water.
I use them in all my tanks and have never had a problem with them. There are other good brands, of course, but this is just the best in my opinion.

By paint, do you mean that black kinda paint/netting stuff? It has came off in small amounts on a couple of mine and I haven't noticed a difference in anything.
stealth is the best, i use them in all but 1 of my tanks, and 100 watt is fine in a 30, thats what i use, oh and never trust any low end heater, especially the ones that come with tank kits and such
