If you do artificial plants in your tank, check out a hobbie lobby store near you. They have 50% off "floral and greenery" right now, and they have some pretty cool looking fake plants, particualary if you want some real long flowing stuff. Even their regular prices are cheaper than plants at a FS and with the sale it's a real deal. The sale is through the 24th (Sat), I don't have any affiliation with Hobbie Lobby, but I browsed them today, tommorrow I'm going to go pick up what I want, about $25 bucks is going to get me a crap load of plants.

I might have to make a trip over there. I could use a few fake plants.

I got me a piece of that deal last week. Got a real big vine cluster for $15-Regularly $30. ROCK ON! :headbang2

If this isn't normally intended for aquatics, make sure no metal is exposed as it will rust up rather fast. Small bare areas can be touched up with liquid vinyl. Cheap silk plants wash out in water and some plecos like to eat them too.

Yeah, I made sure the one I got was completely covered in plastic. That's a handy tip about the liquid vinyl :D Where would I go to buy it though?

I got a huge bags worth of plant bundles, for ten bucks!! I got ones that are entirely plastic though, so after i give em a good washin' i should be set. This is easily 50 to 100 bucks worth of fake plants at the LFS. Good lookin' out on the sale buddy, Thanks!!

All the plants in my 150 gallon came from Hobby Lobby

I picked up plants today. Last week I was in an LSF that has a big 150 set up with some very cool looking, large plastic plants in it. I asked about the plants and they showed me some on a shelf and told me the prices. They were $$$. A couple of days later I was browsing a thread on this site about making floating foreground plants, and recognized the plants in the forum post as the plants I saw at the LFS. The poster mentioned that he got them at Michales crafts. I went by Michaels, they had all the plants I had seen at the LFS at considerably lower prices. Since Hobby Lobby is right around the corner from Michaels I stopped there too. Even more plants, regular priced slightly higher than Michaels but still less than LFS, but with the 50% off wayyy cheaper. The picture below are the plants I picked up today. I already mounted them to terra cotta saucers. I don't even get my tank till tomorrow, and it will be a while after that before I'm set up, but I didn't want to miss this sale. I paid about $26 for these 5 plants, plus once I size the giant garland one to the tank, I'll probably be able to make 2 additional plants out of it.
