Picked up a Jardini a week ago eating fine but only feeders bloodworms krill and beef heart with it attacks....but wont touch the pellets....How do i get him to go for them? starve him? or what?

THANKS!!!

about 7+" maybe 9...

I had to starve my 4" Jardini for a week and a half before it ate Hikari food sticks. It was hard waiting for it to eat. I thought it might starve itself since it was use to bloodworms, pieces of market shrimp and meal worms. After that, it ate the food sticks and other pellets as well as other meaty foods.

I had to condition mines to eat the arowana sticks also, but now he eats it eagerly. I do mix up his diet with krill, and blood worms, but his primary food source i the sticks. I don't want him to just want the frozen food all the time so i limit the amount of frozen food given to my jardini. If you don't already have one, a water heater helps big time with their appetite. The warm water boost their metabilism which makes them more active and eat more.

Mine ate them right away, I didnt even starve him, the lfs fed him goldfish but as soon as I dropped some freeze dried krill in there he went straight for it

my jar ate massivore delights the first day in the tank.

i have always just offered pellets with their prefured food...with no starving they just would start taking pellets...i have done this with all my aros...all eat pellets, my silvers and jars even my 3-4" silvers i have now take pellets without hesitation... i will be doing the same with my black i have comming in on wed...

if you get him to eat silversides you can stuff em with pellets :D

It took my Jar about 3 weeks to eat Hikari floating pellets normally. First 2 weeks he would nibble on a few blood worms. In the beginning of the 3rd week he started taking the pellets. Then I introduced a Oscar in my tank, that's when my Jar realized the Oscar was eating all the food and needed to step up his game.. LOL.

After a full 4 days with no food i held strong and he ate a bunch of arowana sticks!!! soooo excited. i woulda screamed but roomates were watchign too didnt wanna see too nerdy lol
