So my LFS will not lift a finger to help me find a tire track or fire eel. Well a LFS that I have talked to in the past which is about an hour drive away said they can get me a 6.5" tire track eel for $15. So I told him to order it. Well a few days later it comes in and this morning I went to pick it up. Well I first started question it when they said it hides non stop, cause tire tracks don't normally do that. Upon them "finding" the eel I was right. Ended up being a Zig Zag.. which is fine but I don't want a 7" eel that I will never see :irked:

Not the LFS fault as the guy I had been talking to was on vacation today and wasn't there to verify what came in, but you would seriously think the distributor would know the difference.

Anyway, from now on when I go out of town to buy a fish I will request they text me a picture of the fish. :(

That sucks. Sometimes it is better off using scientific names also for this purpose, as common names get thrown around a lot and lead to misunderstandings.

i saw somebody on here with some fire's if you're still looking.

yea but the LFS around here never use scientific names.. they'd probably think I was speaking a foreign language.

I saw the fire eels on here, just trying to avoid $35 for shipping.

wow that sucks, hopefully you'll find one

The same thing has happened to me. I drove 45 mins for a 55 gallon tank which ended up being a 20 gallon or so :/

You always have to ask for dimensions. If they really want to sell it, they'll grab a tape measure and check it out for you. ;)
