Ok so i know this has probly been asked alot before. I just got lazy on reading through fourms. So i have a little 4" silver aro that i got 5 days ago. I have been trying to get him to eat pellets, krill, and small feeder fish. He wont eat anything. I have him in a 220g tank with a rtc x tsn thats 8" a 12" clown knife and a 12" albino channel cat. So any help please i know maybe it just might be he needs more time to adjust.

I have been watching it good and the other fish dont even get close to him. Would put him in another tank till he got bigger but all i have is the 220g and my daughter 10g guppie tank.

Hey Shaydon.. i'm sure others would chip in but your aro is at its most vulnerable now.. the catfish will easily have a go at it.. if possible get another tank or return it before it gets killed.. i know all seems well but when the lights go out the cats will start their work.. think about it mate.. cheers..

and oh to your main question.. the aro is def stressed out.. it needs time to get oriented to the new surrounding and with all these big fish around it will take a lot of time.. that is why it is recommended to keep them alone till they are about 12".. by then you would have them eating pellets.. if you move the aro to its own tank.. try some diffused lighting.. gentle aeration.. no decor.. good filter and excellent water parameters should get the aro eating in no time.. blood worms, small guppy fry from your daughter's tank till the aro bulks up.. then you can slowly introduce the rest.. all the best.. cheers

alright thanks for the info. i talked to a friend last night. he has a 55g he said i could bring over to set it up. Should that be big enough to grow it to 8" or bigger?

+1

the aro should have been the 1st fish in the tank if posible as they are very skitish. What other fish are in your firends 55gallon ?

its just an empty tank i would have to set it up. which i have some extra bio media in my 220 i could put in the 55g when i set up to help with that. so this should work for me. i hope

that should be fine for a short period just remember no sharp/pointed decoration etc also a power head set low to add a slight current might not be a bad idea. For feeding bloodworms, floating pellets, fresh shrimp choped small etc

hope it helps

best of luck keep us posted

alright sounds like i can handle that thanks for the help. and i.ll let you kniw hows its doing and get pics up when i get a new camera
