Mozilla Firefox is more standard compliant than IE6 (and IE7 - W3c standards), it is not integrated with the system and does not have support for things such as ActiveX which plague IEs security, and it has basic features such as tabs that IE only starting to introduce with IE7.

The man said it all. Its customizable and has "themes"( If youre the creative type ). Its search bar is very easy to customize.. you can add google, amazon , wickepedia a dictionary .. you can open a group of bookmarks with one click , and the list goes on...

Oh, its also open source and that people are constantly working and updating it ..

I am not sure.. what i did was i downloaded it and just overlapped the directory where the older version resides. Its got more goodies , im using it right now.
