Got me a lovely juvenile female retic, she eats nightcrawlers, bloodworms, will have a go at chopped mussels but not to keen, how can i get her onto more balanced pellets. She skims over them but doesnt seem keen, any ideas.....????

I've had good luck with getting my leos and motoros onto pellets using the "starvation" method. I find giving them half rations for a week, then offering the pellets works better (for me) than giving them no food at all for a few days and then offering the pellets.

My motos love chopped prawn which I stuff with sinking pellets, it took me over a month of them to take pellets. Now, both of them love pellets, but I still feed them with prawns, nightclawer, fish fillers. Be patient

I throw a big cup full of pellets in let them start eating them then throw in a plate of prawn
Prawns are a good filler you think your rays are full with them but they are not getting much from them

Really? I was thinking pure protein along with calcium from the exoskeleton.. nonetheless, I normally feed pellets first followed by whole fish or gutted/headless fish. Sounds healthy anyways...

Got her onto chopped mussels stuffed with pellets last night. One step there lol. Even my fire eel goes nuts for mussels and he is usually a fussy beggar so heres hoping. Frozen mussels are so cheap here in the uk. 2kg bag for £3 big smiles.
Just have to fix my stupid eheim wet/dry filter now
