gettin' back in the game with a black aro

Hey guys, I've been out of the game for a while, but I'm thinking about getting back in with a black arowana. Have they been coming up for sale often on the east coast? And how much should I expect to have to pay for an adult one?

ive seen small, medium & large blacks for sale at petzone from california. in NY i heard pacific aquarium and plants would be receiving some end of last year. once a year they are sure to appear somewhere
west coast they usually carry them...CA

Man order one off a vendor here, or from Jeff Rapps at Tangledupincichlids.com

He has the best price Ive seen. any LFS will be selling them well over 200$.

Do your research, I had 3 differenet shops try to sell me silver aro's as blacks/blues.

Seems like they have been about $100 for small ones (<5") and upwards of $300 for large ones.

Up here in CT, I haven't seen one in a LFS for less than $400. I ordered mine from a vendor here for a little over $200 shipped. That was three years ago, though.

shark aquarium in NJ had a couple of foot long blacks on pellets for 250 or 300
