I have agreed to take a 20" shovelnose catfish. He will be going into my 450g 96x36" tank with my arowana. Any advice? How would these do with stingrays?

Thanks.

not suer about rays but just make suer he cant fit him in his mouth. cats eat alot of tank mates so its kinda made me turn and pas on cats but post some pics when you do!

For those of you that aren't familiar with my tank, my arowana are all 27-30" long. Only other tankmate for now would be a 12-13" flagtail that will be moved if and when I do get a stringray(s). I really don't forsee any issues, but it's nice to hear from experienced keepers.

well lets see food wise will eat a fish or raw shrimp of any type. I feed mine every 2 to 3 days. Only active when hungry so it its tail starts waging some poor small fish will die.

Keap away from any sharp or load sudden sounds. they will spooke and comit nose aside on the side of the tank. In a house with kids I have been lucky so far.

Teritorial problem I have found they tend to chose a spot to setle after a meal. and will get pissed off at anything that comes near them forr about an hour. because of this I feed my tsn on the oposite side of the tank from the rest of the fish. Other then that one hour they are big panseys.

Oh and when moving it watch out for the spikes in its 3 largest fins at 17" my fish could easally put his threw my hand

Thanks, good info.

my TSN is 26in and he is in a tank with 5 other types of catfish. the smallest is about 12in, and as long as you keep him feed every other day and dont allow him to get hungry enough to attack the other fish.
