About a year ago my boyfriend and I got a pictus catfish. We had done our research and found out they like to be in groups of at least two or three but we were told he would be fine and probably group up with our clown loaches. Would it be worth looking into getting another pictus to try and liven our guy up?

might work, but prepared to seperate them, i dont know how pictus act towards one another if introduced at different times but my pictus was extremley aggressive toward all other cats in the tank, including my channel who was about 18in and my pictus was only 6

i would get 2 more if you do get another one... so you would have 3 to spread the aggrestion out between them and i would think you would be fine with 3... 2 might be trouble... i have had 2 at one time... they were ok but did fight some...

He doesn't seem to do anything but sit under a rock arch all day. I was wondering if getting another would increase his activity. If it would just cause fighting in the tank then obviously thats not the way to go. I have had a hard time finding information about behavior on these guys. He has been in the tank for almost a year with a couple clown loaches and plecos and has never acted aggressive except for one case were he ate the new betta I bought but that was always a worry anyway. He seems fairly calm but I know some cats are territorial and I don't know if these guys follow that or not. Any information about how he may act would be greatly appreciated.
