I am about to get a Fahaka and can't wait! I have read alot of material on here and have taken it to heat but still have some questions. 1 How often do you have to trim their "beak" or are they one of the puffers that tend to have a slow growing beak, the reason I ask is my friend constantly trims his green spots beak. Also the diet seems to be snails, ghost shrimp, and krill if I'm not mistaken, what other foods are there that would be recommended for it's diet. I like to switch it up for my pets I will. It will be in a 125 gal and it still seems like there is some debate any comments would be appreciated.

I used to have one that loved raw shrimp. Also, you probably won't ever have to trim it's beak as long as you feed it shell-on foods like snails.

good to know I don't think I would have a problem trimming the beak but I am not anxious to do it. I'll try market shrimp too. Is the 125 god enough for life also what seems to be the right size tnk for a mbu, not that I plan on getting one soon but more for future reference, someone on here said 550 gallons and that seems a little rediculous to me.

Actually, the tank size recommended for an adult mbu is 1,000g. They put out a lot of pollution & require a huge amount of dilution. 125g should work for a fahaka, granted large water changes are done weekly. Larger is always better.

There really is no reason a fahaka or GSP should ever need it's teeth trimmed, if fed the proper crunchy foods:
