Hey guys. Just thought I would share some exciting news. The local Chinese buffet has had a indoor pond with 6 jags in it. They are all about a foot and they have bred. They have a 10 gallon holding all of the fry that they could save. I went there the other night and saw them there. I told them that I have been wanting a jag but none of my LFS have them and tell me they are hard to get a hold of. I asked where he got his and he had foregotten the name of the store. He said once the fry get about an inch I could come and pick one up because their pond is already full. I have been wanting to start another large predator tank and would like a large and very aggressive cichlid. Is this the way to go. If not than what are some other good large agressive cichlid choices. Ideas appreciated.

If you have a large enough tank i would get a Buttakorforia cichlid, they are wimpy when young, but once they start growing they are EXTREMLY aggressive, they wont hesitate to take a chomp out of your hand!!!But Jags are pretty cool too. Also if your looking for a large predater try a Wolffish.

Thats awesome. Jags are one of my favorite fish. I love mine:)

Good Choice. I use to have a Jag. I would've kept him if it wasn't for the killing spree:(

they are on high on the list of the cichlid chart for agression! the only others are devils dovii butti umbee and meybe a few more. out of all those its realy the personality that makes them more agrwessive than another TAKE THE JAG!!!!!!
