i had a silver arowana, but he died this week, im going to go with a jardini this time?

is there any different care issues between a silver and a jardini?

Silvers are alot more docile then the jars....its hit or miss with a jar and tank mates so choose wisly...otherwise i think they are pretty much the same

Jardini are a lot nicer, Less Likely to Jump out of the tank compared to the silver, black or asian arowana, nicer in coloration compared to the silver, doesn't get as big as the silver, on the downside, they are more aggressive so if you plan to put other fishes in the tank introduce when they are young because the jardini can be a tank bully as they mature.

* please note You CANNOT keep two Jardini in the same tank they will fight to death. I have been keeping jaridni in the past, and right now i have x4 NTT, x4 Indo datnoid, x1 Royal clown kinfe, and a jardini arwoana in the same tank.

ive seen successful jar comms many times, it all depends on the jar personality. luckily i can only keep my jar with bichirs lol

Yeah if your lucky you'll find two in a hundred jars that will tolerate another :screwy: Pretty low odds of success there.More likely to end up as pufferfreak has suggested

:naughty: if you say so. to the op a majority will say dont do it because jars are too "aggro" but if you want to try it, start off with a couple small ones.

Or be responsible an do a little research. Try looking up some of tonymofo's old threads regarding what happens when you raise multiple young jardini together. Or you can take the advice of someone who has been keeping a jardini now for what a month?:screwy:

The first step in raising multiple arowana is having a way to separate them if needed. So unless you can house multiple aros separately, best bet is to not attempt.
