Hey there, I've got a juvie fahaka, about 2- 2.5" and all she's eating is bloodworms. I was to add more of a variety to her diet, but she doesnt seem to want to accept anything. Do any one know of a food or tecnique that could help me in opening up the diet for this young'un?:nilly::confused:

Her appetite is great, no problems there, she'd would eat bloodworms till her stomach blew up, if I'd let her.

PS. She will have snails, occasionally, doesn't seem to realize their food most of the time :screwy: If I was a puffer, I'd be all over snails like a fat kid on smarties! Oh well... my other puffers loved snails immediatly, maybe she will just take some time...

What have you offered her?
Try this list of foods : FEEDING YOUR PUFFER

How often are you feeding her? I'd skip several days of feeding blackworms & then offer her something crunchy from that list above. She's going to have some dentistry problems if you don't get her onsomething crunchy.

I have her in blood worms, but has ample frozen food available to her if she would just EAT THEM :(

Frozen - krill, shrimp, smelt,
Fresh- nightcrawlers, snails, mussels,

Heu Puffer punk! Any tips on how to switch up foods? I've tried not feeding her for a couple days and then adding something new, I've even soaked the krill with the frozen bloodworms!

:) thanks in advance

do you feed the bloodworms live or frozen? Just wondered if it's a reaction to live food your puffers interested in...

Try soaking her food in garlic, to enhance her appetite. You may have to bounce the food on the end of a string (try a piece of people shrimp), to make it look alive.
