make sure you understand the time and effort these guys take, I have a quaker parrot and he takes up most of my spare time, you must have extreme patience and you must be able to take an extremely painful bite and stay very calm and quiet
you must also know that these guys will do flock calls that can be heard very far away so if you have neighbors that aren't too fond of noise then I would not get him
and your going to have to save money for a lot of toys as these guys should have their toys changed up and replaced often
and that is not to mention their food
you will have to make fresh food twice a day for them and for them to have pellets and water available at all times
please think long and hard especially if this is an impulse buy
I only have a little quaker and sure she is one of the best animals Ive ever had the privilage to meet, he takes a lot of time and a lot of effort
oh and the mess is crazy, they can learn to project their poop and they love flinging their food and think its funny that you will pick up whatever they throw or drop
but if you are prepared and fully understand then I couldn't recommend a bird more than anything especially macaws as they can be the sweetest
also you may want to go to a shelter or that and get some hands on experience and knowledge of these birds
