I am getting a used 125 gallon tank for my B-Day (June 1) and I have been looking around because in my 55 gallon tank my fish are getting too big and rough. There have been a few tanks that caught my eye, but some had fish in them which would get torn up by my fish. So I would have to set up the fish that originally came with the tank in the tank until they became accustomed to my local water and then do a switch? With my fish in the big tank and the others in the 55 gallon? I dont want to keep the new fish in my 55 as well because they might bring diseases and unfortunately I dont have a quarantine tank for them...

Oh, and how do you bring a 125 gallon GLASS tank down from a 3 story appartment building???

I would just set the tank up at your house and then keep the fish that came with it in there for awhile. After the tank has been set up for a while and the fish are alright I would make the switch. As for getting the tank down the stairs, I would get a big peice of cardboard that would go under the tank and slide it down on that. The corners might be alittle rough though.

The same way it got up there: pizza, beer, a few good strong friends ----(forget the cardboard.) Tip: you may want move it empty!
The fish can be moved in there own water in bags, buckets and coolers. The filters and substrate the same way to save the good bacterias.
