If I was you I would definately steer clear of things to rub my very understanding parents the wrong way. I mean how many other kids would be allowed to keep 500+ gallons of water in their parents house. You got it made dude don't mess it up.

I'm not messing it up, trust me on that. My mom didnt want another puppy after hers died, and guess what, 2 weeks later went out to the kenels and i got a pit/boxer mix. brought it home, she was pissed for the first 20 mins, than i come home to see it sleeping on her lap, she loves the dog now and lets it sleep in her bed :irked: which it was supose to be mine.

so it sounds like a male ball python is my best bet. Gona start doing a little research on them, like the best type of environment etc.. Than I'll look into the dirrent morphs.

Thanks for the help everyone :headbang2

elevatethis breeds pastels and had 2 male pastels left... you should check into him if a pastel ball is what you're looking for. I think it would be an awesome starter snake.:headbang2

I've got an 8 y/o female that is about 60" long and wieghs around 10 lbs...a buddy of mine has a few 15-20 year old girls....they are MONSTERS at anywhere from 5 to 6 feet long and 15-20 lbs a piece....what makes big ball pythons rare outside of professional breeders' collections is that people simply don't keep them for 20 years either losing interest or losing the animal by not caring for it right long-term. Most professional breeders don't post pics of their normal breeder girls so you really don't see them unless you are lucky enough to visit their facilities.

I've seen plenty of big males...I've seen many many more scrawny, wormy males which seems to be the norm. Its a bell curve...basically, its safe to tell people that a male ball python will grow to anywhere from 3 to 4 feet when fully grown.

Hope that helps clarify things a little.....

TBH ElavateThis I can't argue. I've only experienced Royals in the UK. Not that I'm saying things are different elsewhere, but how can I argue if we're in different countries. It would be foolish of us both.

All I'm saying is of all the correctly kept adults I've seen..I've never ever seen a female of 5 ft /over. Or a male of four foot.
If you personally own animals of that size, then great, and I guess its good advice to give if you personally do own them. I'm just posting my experience too.

Eh, it is hard to judge since a lot of breeders hide their big guys...
