Hey fellas, I am new here to the site and have not had much time to browse and post much. I hope I can give some advice soon instead of asking for it. I have an Armatus I am desperate to get off live. I got this guy at around 1" and he is now 7". I have been feeding him minnows for the time being. I want to get him off these so there are no worries about him getting sick cause he is my boy LOL. I always quarantine them for at least 2-3 weeks before he gets them. I have been working with him for the past few weeks try to get him to take tilapia, shrimp, catfish, etc. I have a jig set up and have the whole fish swimming motion down pretty good. He goes right up to it like he is gonna attack then *****es out at the end!! It is getting devastating. I usually give in and give him a fish every 5-6 days. It has been 5 days now since his last minnow. How long should I go before I give in this time? Any suggestions on a new way to try would be great. Any advice is much appreciated! Thanks

there are several posts on this, so do some searching. I know post have been made by myself and vamptrev. So you don't think i'm being rude, I will tell you a little of my experience.
I would only feed it fish every 2 to 3 weeks (after they've been quarantined as you've been doing) and keep trying what you've been trying. It took me at least 3 months before I got my old tat to eat shrimp. They have a high metabolism and can get skinny pretty quickly, so I wouldn't starve them as long as a lot of other fish, but you can def go for more than you've been. Sometimes it helps if they are by themselves and def if they have a comfortable tank environment where they feel safe.

Where in Indiana are you? Bring him down to Louisville cause he doesnt want to get off of live for you and he wants to live with me!
