Okay I have not fed my bass for like 4 or 5 days and they are still not eating the shrimp pellets. The suck them into their mouths for like 5 seconds then spit it out. Should I just keep not feeding them, or try other pellets.

What pellets have you found to be the best?

I feed Omega One, And Hikari Cichlid Gold and Bio Gold. When you give food, throw it at the surface, they should strike instantly, usually swallowing the food. That's how I taught mine to eat pellets.

Mine eats koi food o.o maybe its cuz his around them he thinks its aok for me lol. i havent had any luck with thos sinking Krill or shrimps

Try soaking the pellets. They may be too hard and big for your small bass to chew and swallow.

My bass stares me down if i dont feed him. He just sits at the top going back and forth. But when mine is in a feeding rage I stick my fingure in there and he mistakes it for a pellet and I get bit.

Same thing for me. I could get mine to eat cardboard. Or Wardley Shrimp Pellets, which are the same thing.

Good luck, while others have had luck with getting their LMB's on pellets, this is one of the HARDEST to do when the indivdual Specimen is not participating.............trust me.This problem is Specimen specific, thats why some get them to eat soon, some just give up..............try this ,gorge him on feeders so he can go a while, then try him for 9 STRAIGHT DAYS,NO GIVING IN NO MATTER WHAT ,and from the previous feeder gorging he will make it through. If this dosen't work, then inject earthworms with vita-chem Vitamin souloution and hell be Nutritionally coverd. This all comes down too how bad you wanna keep this guy.Good luck.

That may very well be true, I got to raise mine from a very small juvenile, so it was easy for me to condition it to tank life.

I spoiled mine on frozen bloodworms when they were small and now they eat FD Shrimp regularly. It took them awhile to get used to cut pieces of fish, but that's all they'll touch. I tried switching to pellets, but they don't want a thing to do with them. They spit it out with out another bite. This went on for about 2 weeks and I eventually caved in and now they're back on FD Shrimp. :irked:

Well they are definitely at the point where they bight my fingers but are still spitting the pellets out of there mouth. I need to try something else tonight like maybe the koi food or something.

I don't know. I'll let you know if they start eating.

Thanks
