I bought this guy because i didnt wanna chance my mala with my other fish. I'm starting to think i mad a mistake. This fish is coll but sits around and i dont think he will be able to hold his own in my big tank. I put him in twice and i had to take him out both times.

i'm pretty sure malas are more inactive than rainbows. A few wolf fish owner complained that their malas always stayed still as a log all day (until night).

no polys in my tanks, my rainbow just lays on the bottom unless hungry. My mala was the same but a cooler fish
An inactive fish should be pretty much what to expect out of wolfish. Some exceptions as usual, but in general a pet rock.
Well i dont know if i will ever be able to throw my red wolf in with my aro, pike, and jag. May try another mala because my last mala did great with tankmates

Red wolves would work better in smaller communities since they lack the size. You might be able to get away with your stock it if you manage to get the red to somewhere around 7-9 inches but that's going to be a feat itself. The aro will eventually eat it though. Get a bunch of malas & bichirs
